Intentional Technology Best Practices: A School Guide
Our very own FCPS teachers in PIT created a school guide that provides guidance on how to implement best practices in the school setting. This is version 1.0 of the guide and we look forward to receiving feedback from administrators and instructors on how to continue improving this document. Contents include Best Practices for Principals, School-Based Technology Specialists (SBTS) and Technology Support Specialists (TSPECs), CT Leads/ Department (Dept.) Chairs/Instructional Coaches and Other Teacher Leaders, and Classroom Teachers
This guide was carefully reviewed by teachers from the following FCPS Schools: Katherine Johnson MS, Kilmer MS, Marshall HS, West Potomac HS, West Springfield HS, and Woodlawn ES.

Technology seems to be the perfect portal to achieve those goals, and it very much can be. Technology can also—when it’s overused or used in certain ways—distract us from our goals, overwhelm our senses, restrict learning, keep us more sedentary, and hinder our social and emotional development (among other things).
